Bellwether Report

Today we have updated our Bellwether Report for the month of May, 2009. It can be viewed at http://www.info-link.com/bellwetherreport.asp. Info-Link purchases information from 48 state agencies and the US Coast Guard that process boat registration information. The Bellwether Report looks at a number of key boating states (such as Florida, Texas, California, New York, Michigan) that are geographically dispersed across the country and together represent approximately 50% of the US market as a barometer of new boat sales activlty. The report allows users to select 3, 6 or 12 month moving averages as well as different market segments (outboard, stern drive, sportfish, ski and PWC). This is intended as an "index of leading indicators" of new boat sales.

As can be seen, through May we have yet to see any signs of recovery with new boat sales continuing at bombed out levels, off some 35% or more. The bellwether report is updated monthly and Info-Link sends out an e-mail each month when the information is updated.
