What a great tool. As reps we have to get the old school out of some of the dealers and goto is a great start. Has valuable of a tool it is, however, sometimes there is old school at the manufacture level and then you have a impasse. Great post Doug
Hey Doug,
Been a long time! I sometimes use Skype along with a web cam and that has been good in some instances. Most newer laptops have them built in or one can be bought inexpensively. Yes gotomeetings.com is a great tool.

Hi Doug, Go to your mypage, then add apps and search for ZORAP. It is free for you and it will allow net meetings where you can have voice and or video meetings, share documents etc.... Best part is its free! Then invite your dealers to join marineindustry.org and you and them can meet anytime 1 to 1 or 1 to 100!

With as expensive as travel is becoming I have been making use of www.gotomeeting.com. The has proven to be an effective tool for a more in-depth communication piece than letters, e-mails, faxes and phone calls. Once most dealers see how easy it is to use they are happy to play along as it is something we can schedule ahead of time and typically takes much less time than when I visit them face to face. Has anyone here been utilizing this type of tool and if so what types of experiences have you had with it?
Allow us to have access to them... Few manufacturers allow the funds to reach us. In my dealerships I foot the bill for all marketing and crm costs. Since Grow Boating stopped collecting the funds I see no measurable results from the funds...
Most boat dealers do not understand advertising, they dabble in it. They are the same ones that do not understand the leads from the grow boating and what to do with them. The same goes the leads generated from the builders or even from the ads they pay for on boat trader. If they dont walk in the door or call on the phone, they are lost. On the other side of the coin, I dont believe grow boating understands 100% what they need to do to promote boating, so it is a catch 22. The basic and simple answer to your question is training. sales training , marketing training, dealership procedures and simple lead and phone etiquette. Dealerships got lazy in the last 5 years, customers were beating a path to their door, banks were buying anyone who could fog a mirror, who needed training? But that is the simple answer to your question sorry for the long response. - JR
